Pure Unadulterated Torture

by Luckbox

deepstacks.JPG

I'm an idiot. I signed up for what I thought was a Deep Stack NO LIMIT tournament, but as you can see, I managed to find a LIMIT tournament.

More than 10 hours later, I ran into a card rack and busted in 3rd place for a nice little profit. I'll have much more to write about this later, but right now, I'm exhausted. There are lots of thanks to go around, and I'll get to them all! I'll leave you with this tidbit:

34 players left, 27 pay, The Luckbox is in 34th with T2600 and blinds at 600/1200. I'm like MacGyver trapped in a cage with only a toothbrush and a cracked DVD.

At least you have a nice chunk of cash to show for all that torture! Congrats!

Wish I could have hung on the rail to the end, but I would not have made it another hour and a half. But good job!

That's a marathon I'd never be able to complete. Nice.

Posted by: BadBlood at July 15, 2006 11:23 AM

Torture? You are too funny. If I had a bunch of blogger pals railing and chatting it up with me until I finished 3rd in a deep stack and made a nice wad of change, I wouldn't call that Torture..lol

Sorry I didn't hang around till the end...Congrats on a fabulous finish! Almost impressive..haha

Now for the important question. Have you figured out what you want for your bounty in our HU challenge? I have!

Sweet merciful SUCK.

I absolutely DO NOT have the endurance necessary to do this.

Not even close.

Posted by: G-Rob at July 15, 2006 2:40 PM

Wowsers. Glad I crashed when I did, another 2 hours of that was insane to watch, let alone play. Nice work!

And somehow I think that might be your last Deep Stacks Limit Tourney...

Posted by: Garthmeister J. at July 15, 2006 3:40 PM

Nice work CJ! Poker karma is cruel - accidently choosing a limit tourney and then going 10h deep? Eesh.

Posted by: Biggestron at July 15, 2006 7:56 PM

Wow CJ if that was me, I would so have just donked out on purpose early on. I bet I would have last MAYbe 30 minutes. Impressive you were able to stick it out for over 10 hours. Limit tournaments are the absolute worst man. Great job with the win.

Good job on the nice cash.

But a limit tournament that was deep-stacked, too? Bwa-ha-ha-ha. That's too funny.

Posted by: Haley at July 16, 2006 5:00 AM

Excellent work, CJ!

Oh, btw, what has changed in the past two years? Was it really the talk Max and I gave you? Or did you get some coaching?

Seriously, I've either forgotten if you told me, or I simply don't know.

Posted by: Felicia at July 16, 2006 12:03 PM

Wahoo! I was wondering how you did. I still cannot believe I signed up for that silly thing.

Now, about that 50 percent we swapped... ;)
