2008 WSOP Poker Blogs and News

Updated 6/1/08

Looking for news on the 2008 World Series of Poker? Well, of course, we will be in Las Vegas writing for the Up For Poker Blog (not to mention Otis writing for the PokerStars Blog). Alas, we can't be there for the whole seven weeks. So, here are the people we'll be reading from May 30 until July 16, 2008.

  • Tao of Poker--Dr. Pauly is back on his own for the 2008 WSOP. While he has some work he'll have to do for other outlets, he's dedicating the biggest part of his time to the front and back stories of the World Series. From scandals to bracelets to the urination habits of the name pros, Pauly will bring it all to us in real time.

  • Pot Committed--Change100 will be once again working for PokerNews but will undoubtedly be bringing some of the untold tales on her personal blog. She almost might shed the occasional spotlight on Pauly's more sensitive side, which is always a treat.

  • Las Vegas Vegas--The Prof, Flipchip, and their entire crew provide some of the best information and photography you will see out of the World Series. They've beeen around forever and don't show any signs of giving up the ghost. What's more, Flipchip will be shooting for PokerNews again, yet another reason to read both sites.

  • Mean Gene--Mean Gene Bromberg is back with PokerNews as well. Self deprecating with occasional flashes of confidence make for a fun look at the WSOP.

  • Wicked Chops--When you need your daily dose of irreverent humor, half-naked women, and snark, head to the Entities at Wicked Chops. Few poker bloggers have made it as good as these guys and their connections in the poker world are unmatched.

  • Pokerati--Once voted most likely to cover the Series from the Hooker Bar, Dan and his crew of motley writers offer a distictive view of the WSOP that you won't see anywhere else.

  • Jason Kirk--Jason worked for Bluff and has been around the Series for the past several years (not to mention just about everywhere else in poker). He's going back this year for PokerListings. If we can get him to write for his personal blog, it should be some great reading.

  • PokerListings--Since we just mentioned Jason's affiliation with PL, we can't fail to point out that PokerListings hires some of the smartest and funniest poker writers to do its fll time coverage. Matt, Marty, and Owen are smart good guys and keep us entertained even when they aren't writing.

  • Terrence Chan--Terrence is a pro player who got ...this...close to winning a bracelet last year. He's a friend and we look forward to rooting for him to take one down this year. We also hope to end up at dinner with him and beat him in an expensive game of Credit Card Roulette.

  • Jen Leo--Jen is more of a travel writer than poker blogger, but that doesn't stop her from getting neck deep in the poker scene--especially during the WSOP. It also helps that she sleeps with the editor of PokerNews. It's okay, they are married. Oh, don't miss her site Twitter Your Poker.

  • Michelle Lewis--Wicked Chops' poker calls her a cougar. We don't dare get so fresh. Regardless, the squeaky clean mom from Texas looks to be headed back to the Series this year, and that's something nobody can complain about.

  • BWOP--CK, the Black Widow of Poker, just just dropped her lucrative dayjob, drove cross country, and is setting up shop in Vegas for the summer. She's not working for anybody except herself. She's promised to take everyone along for the ride with her...including...

  • F Train--F Train is old school when it comes to poker blogging, but is a baby when it comes to covering the Series. He's hooked up with PokerNews for the year. PokerNews has lucked out with this one. Oh, and since we've mentioned it so many times already...

  • PokerNews--There is a reason PokerNews gets the media provider job at the WSOP two years running. It's the best, hands down. There's a reason for that, too. Editor John Caldwell is as smart as they come and hires the best in the business. Speaking of which, we can't foget to mention...

  • Hard-Boiled Poker--There are few bloggers out there who put the kind of time and effort into their blogs as Shamus. We are really looking forward to what he produces at the Series this year.

  • Snoopy System--Snoopy is the best man for the job. Ask anybody. Need poker reporting? He's been doing it for Blonde Poker forever. Need a chocolate milkshake? He can get you one of those, too. Hands down the most underrated poker blogger in the business.

  • Miami Don--Miami Don only works for himself, but he does it well. Don is now a Vegas local who can spin one hell of a tale. If he can pull himself away from the juicy cash tables, he'll surely give us some great stories. Speaking of locals...

  • The Vegas Year--Robert is a stand-up comic, poker player, and one hell of a good writer. Just read one of his session reports and you'll see why we like him so much.

  • The Trooper97--The Trooper97, aka Eddie the Dealer, used to deal our underground games here in G-Vegas. He moved out to Vegas last year. He'll be playing in Vegas this year when he's not dealing at the Nugget. Oh, you might want to have your speakers turned down when you log on.

  • Dutch Boyd--Well, hell. Dutch is back to posting again. Just try to make us believe you won't read this blog.

  • PokerShrink--The head shrinker of poker is back on the beat in Vegas. We can personally attest, he handles WSOP reporting even better than he handles stud players who suck out on him without any excuse for being in the pot.

  • Homer's Odyssey--Blondey Homer is also working for PokerListings this summer and taking time to write a personal journal on his other home Blonde Poker.

Did we miss you? Shoot us an e-mail and we'll see what we can do about linking you up.
